Last Day In China 3: Lunch at Ann's Home

Ann is extraordinary! She has the care package website Red Thread China and can also be hired to be a shopping guide. I highly recommend Ann for shopping, way above the adoption guides set up by your agency. She is energetic, fun and really knows her stuff. We went out with her twice and had such fun that she invited us over to her place for a real home cooked meal. She met us at the metro station and took us through the market to buy fresh ingredients. She doesn't have a fridge, which is common in China. One shops each and every day for that day's meal ingredients. Everything is as fresh as it can be, the shrimp still swimming, in fact, until they are purchased.

The produce looked fantastic, but I sure had never seen a black chicken before. This chicken is considered much better than the white chicken, apparently.

The open doorway with the man in it is where Ann lives

In the kitchen.

Ann's work station where she prepares care packages for our children.

What a great way to spend your time in China. I have LOVED following along, your daughter is ADORABLE. Such an inspiration to adopt an older child. BEAUTIFUL story.

Thanks for this look at what Ann does. I sent a care package for my daughter through her and she's been wonderful!
