"...the Lord giveth no commandments unto the children of men, save he shall prepare a way for them that they may accomplish the thing which he commandeth them." 1 Nephi 3:7
Never lie to your children and tell them Santa is real. This is very important with adoptees. I would say even more vital in your situation. Not trying to criticize you, sister, in fact, I am praying for you and the girls daily. Just wanted to inform you of what I have learned along this adoption journey.
They look so pretty. Merry Christmas
Anonymous, you are right. We don't do Santa like most families or the tooth fairy either. They know that give gifts to and from each other on Christmas to show our love for each other, like when the Wise Men brought gifts to Jesus.
I'm an adoptee and my parents did the Santa thing. I'm no worse for wear. Having a picture with Santa is an iconic American picture. Not only do parents need to provide love, structure and stable homes, adoptive parents need to acclimate their adopted children into American culture. I'm glad you did the photo. The girls look wonderful all dressed alike and it's an important photo later on. They are missing so many from when they were infants and toddlers
PofoloI love Santa. The picture of the girls is so sweet. Love the look on Jie Jies face. Merry Merry Chistmas.Renate
